International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study of the interactions between sovereign states, international organizations, non-governmental actors, and multinational corporations. It encompasses the analysis of political, economic, social, and cultural relationships on a global scale. IR seeks to understand the dynamics of power, conflict, cooperation, diplomacy, and international law among global actors. Scholars in this field may explore a variety of issues, such as war and peace, trade, human rights, environmental concerns, and security. The discipline is interdisciplinary, drawing from political science, history, economics, sociology, and law, aiming to explain how countries and other entities conduct their foreign affairs and influence each other.
